KPC

Diagnostic Kits

Diagnostic molecular is expanding medical laboratory procedures with a great impact on clinical medicine, and this is initiating the production of diverse high-end diagnostic kits that use PCR, RTPCR and Multiplex PCR specifically made for infectious diseases, food pathogens, and GMO and genetic screening. This procedure inclines to particular protocols such as CMV quantification, respiratory pathogens, STDs, resistant bacteria like KPC, diarrhea pathogen, mycobacterium and HPV. GMO analysis realizes new features taking shape in thrombosis unique SNP, Panel Assay, BRAF detection, FNAB and DNA-STRIP technology.

Klebsiella Pneumoniae Resistance

The presence of the Carbapenem hydrolyzing β-lactamase KPC enzyme is the source for the rapid spreading of Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumonia, and it is, therefore, important to have a rapid testing kit to alienate the KPC gene before inter/intra-hospital transmissions become epidemic outbreaks. KPC provides two detection kits for this condition, which include KI 5050C2 and KI 5050. The former is used in a standard PCR after freeze-drying and gel electrophoresis as observations are made under the ultraviolet light while the latter is based on Real Time PCR, and it is accessible to all kinds of PCR instruments.

These diagnostic kits are sensitive and highly specific for detecting the KPC gene from the colonies, clinical swabs and bacterial DNA. They come with positive and internal controls for easy interpretation of results and quality control. Both kits are easy to use as the lab technologist only has to add the patient’s DNA to the ready-made PCR premix tube and wait for results in approximately three to four hours, which is a fast turnaround time compared to what is in the market. All kits come inclusive of testing reagents for performing assays, positive controls, detailed protocols and instructions on DNA extraction and purification.

Understanding how diseases or medical conditions like KPC operate is necessary for developing sensitive and specific diagnostic kits with fast turnaround time for efficiency and avoiding catastrophic events such as epidemics. HV labs works had to invest in research and production of effective diagnostic kits with the latest technology for better and easy interpretation of results.
